Our firm specializes in lemon law (consumer warranty) disputes between consumers and automobile manufacturers and their dealers. We also represent consumers in cases of dealer fraud, including odometer rollback cases and cases involving the sale of vehicles without proper disclosure of their condition and history (sometimes referred to as "lemon laundering" cases). You must have purchased your car or other product in California for us to help you. We have been practicing in these specialized areas since 1979.

The California and federal lemon laws are best known for protecting consumers who have purchased or leased cars which don't work properly under warranty and which, after a reasonable number of repair attempts by the manufacturer and its dealers, still don't work properly. They apply to any car purchased or leased with an express warranty (a written warranty). This means that even used cars which are sold with a warranty (including a portion of the original manufacturers unexpired warranty) are covered by these laws.

The lemon laws cover more than just automobiles, trucks and motorhomes. They cover any "consumer product" including airplanes, boats, jet skis, and manufactured housing. While less expensive consumer products such as air conditioners, carpeting, hot tubs and the like are also covered by the law, the cost of a product must be relatively high to warrant the involvement of an attorney. If your damages are less than $5,000.00 you might consider going to small claims court under the lemon laws.
